WHAT A BLAST!
On September 14th, a Realtor® collegue and I flew to Oahu to attend the Hawaii Assn. Of Realtors® Annual Convention. Actually, it wasn’t really “Annual” because they hadn’t had one in eight years! I went to network, learn strategies for growing and improving my business, be encouraged, and have a little bit of fun in the process.
When the invitation to participate in the Realtors® Got Talent event on September 15th landed in my inbox, I initially said “No way!” A few days later I changed my mind and ultimately did a bit of standup comedy. It turned out to be more of a teaching moment as I opened with the short video by Paul Harvey – God Made A Realtor® (Check out: God Made A Realtor® on Youtube), and then shared two of my client experiences. I finished with a reminder that September is Realtor® Safety Awareness Month, sharing a bit of a horror story I had experienced when I failed to let my hubby know I had made it safely to my listing appointment! I won’t do THAT again.
Although I was super nervous, participating in the talent show, with very little talent, fulfilled my “fun” plan! And I had great networking and learning opportunities. Will I attend next year? You betcha!
