CBIP Included In “Most Charitable Companies” Of 2024!

Jan 20, 2025

It is my pleasure to share that Coldwell Banker Island Properties has made the Most Charitable Companies 2024 list featuring 107 organizations that donated $301.1 million and volunteered over 93,000 hours in 2023. The exciting announcement was made via Hawaii Business Magazine.

As a board member of our Foundation, I’m grateful we have been able to support Holualoa Elementary School, Back To School Supplies Drive, Hawaii Island Humane Society, Catsnip, Hawai’i Diaper Bank, and Permanently Affordable Living Hawai’i, Kokua Harvest, Remember Thru Music, and our Annual Toy Drive, to note just a handful of 501(c) 3 and community groups. We have big plans for 2025!

How is the Foundation funded? Our base funding comes from CBIP Legacy Donors, whether Realtors®, Short Term Vacation Rental or Long Term Rental employees, those in our amazing marketing department, our transaction coordinators, and affiliate companies state wide. In addition, we have received a large grant through the Clark Realty Trust, our founding brokerage. And, our clients are also able to support the Foundation.

KOKUA HARVEST RECEIVES $2,000.00 DONATION!

If you know me, you know I am a staunch supporter of organizations that tirelessly provide important and necessary services to those in need throughout the Big Island. Not only have Pat and I supported Kokua Harvest through gleaning thousands of pounds of avocados, tangerines, oranges and lemons from our orchards, but also in presenting this valuable 501(c)3 to the CBIP Foundation for much-needed grants.

A $2000.00 grant was awarded to this organization in December, earmarked for a much-needed third van. These vans hold the necessary tools to quickly pick the intended harvest, as well as the crates to store and then distribute the harvest.

If you have excess fruits and veggies, please contact them at (503) 991-5525. They are so professional, excellent in responding, and send their wonderful volunteers to pick and pull! Plus, you receive a tax-deductable donation letter at the end of the year. And, with the new agriculture tax designation programs, you may be able to qualify for a reduction in your property taxes!

Watch for their colorful mini van zooming around the Big Island with the Kokua Harvest and Food Basket logos!

REMEMBER THRU MUSIC RECEIVES $1,500.00 DONATION!

Remember Thru Music, the non-profit I founded in 2016, has provided over 100 customized iPod and now MP3 Players to kupuna on the Big Island, state wide, and even on the mainland. The last area of the brain to be destroyed by memory loss disease is the area that remembers the music of a person’s life. By offering this very personalized music, completely free of charge, to the recipient, those memories often come flooding back, allowing them to once again engage with family and friends, minimize the fog and frustration associated with this terrible disease, and in general provide a sense of peace and well being.

In December, Remember Thru Music was the recipient of a $1,500.00 CBIP Foundation grant which will be used to purchase the MP3 Player, headset, splitter cord, and charging plug for each upcoming recipient. From myself and our five volunteers, we say “THANK YOU ” CBIP!!!
