May was my month to sell two different 3-acre lots to two different buyers, both living in CA! The buyers of a wonderful 3-acre square lot in Kurtistown provides a fun story to tell because the lot wasn’t even offered for sale! My buyer thought it was one of the lots he had on his “drive by” list, only to be totally disappointed when he later realized it wasn’t actually for sale. I never let that detour me! I suggested I write a letter to the seller asking if he would be willing to sell his lot to my buyers, and at a premium. Low and behold, this lot was part of a 5-parcel sale, and within a month, it was offered to my buyers. I wrote the offer at full price, it was accepted and we closed today!
The second 3-acre parcel, located in Kea’au, was my listing, and sold to a neighboring lot owner who wanted to increase the size of his total acreage. It was a marriage made in heaven and closed on May 30th!
When reflecting on both these transactions, it really wasn’t about the commission…it was about helping people realize their dream of Hawaii property ownership! Each escrow has their own set of hurdles to jump, but when I receive the call from my escrow officer that we have closed and recorded, I just love calling my clients to share the good news!
