The pandemic changed things!
The Bauman’s couldn’t come to the island to see properties prior to making their choice. The Pandemic kept most people from getting here unless they could quarantine for 14 days. So, I checked properties out for them, sending along videos and meeting with their family members who lived on-island. That was very cool! Eventually, they fell in love with a gorgeous five-acre property in Ahualoa. This little community is located between Waimea and Honokaa, along the Hamakua Coast. It boasts larger parcels of land, usually 5+ acres, with plenty of grazing grass, ohia and eucalyptus trees, beautiful homes, and privacy, all along what use to be the island’s major highway – Old Mamalahoa Highway.
This property offered open pasture spaces, plus a wonderful forest area perfect for exploration by Beau….almost like a hobbit environment. It has a fabulous stand of huge bamboo that the Bauman’s fell in love with. Plus enough privacy without feeling isolated. Ahualoa has a cooler climate because this little section of our island often has fog that rolls in, and plenty of liquid sunshine to keep everything cool and lush.

Welcome Home!
As I write this blog, the Bauman’s have sold their Tahoe home, closed escrow on their Ahualoa property, and are in the process of getting their personal belongings and cars shipped here. They are set to arrive on September 3rd, and we plan to meet at the property on the 4th. Even though it will be my first time meeting them in person, I feel like they are family, ohana! It is so encouraging to me when a beautiful family discovers the next chapter of their lives…and I get to be a small part of it!
Welcome home, Bauman ‘Ohana, welcome home!
