The Hamakua Coast, with its diverse properties and unique home options, reported a total of five residential sales (a zero percent increase) and no land sales (a 100% decrease) for January 2025 when comparing year-over-year.
As of February 7, 2026, there are 102 active listings, and 30 properties in escrow – both residential and land.
Please note that when I search the Hamakua Coast TMK’s (Tax Map Keys) I use TMK’s 3-2-7, 3-2-8, 3-2-9 (northern most Hilo), 3-3 (central Hamakua) and 3-4 (upper Hamakua) when pulling numbers and searching for properties for my clients. Buyers who want to live closer to hospitals tend to search the listings for the north Hilo areas, while sellers need to know the competition for the entire Hamakua. So, although the north Hilo TMK’s are not technically considered part of the Hamakua Coast, they are part of my Hamakua Coast search criteria.
