Entrance to Kuwili Lani
Six months ago I met Michael Whelan, the visionary behind the creation of Kuwili Lani, located in Laupahoehoe. Kuwili Lani is the only sustainable living subdivision on the Big Island, providing home owners a rare and unique opportunity to build a beautiful home, create gardens and orchards, share the fruits of their labors with neighbors, own small barnyard animals, all with a killer ocean view and amazing temperatures. But, Michael was in a bit of a pickle…sharing that of the 10 lots originally listed on the Big Island MLS, only two had sold in three years. I had seen the lots listed on the MLS but had never taken a client to view them. After a 2-hour consultation, and numerous emails and phone calls, he hired me and Coldwell Banker Island Properties to represent him in selling Lot 1 and 4, two of the originally listed lots, plus his premier Lot 10. Then, a miraculous thing happened…
Within just a few short weeks, Lot 10 went into escrow! Almost simultaneously, Lots 7 & 8, two others in the subdivision, also went into escrow! And a month or so later I had Lot 4 in escrow! Now, Lot 1, his final lot, is in escrow, and will close by the end of this month, sold to a wonderful couple from the mainland! Five lots sold in under six months!!! What a whirlwind experience for this Realtor®.
So, how did all of this happen? Here is what my client shared with me in an email last week:
Thank you for your considerate and consistent on-going communications, and your hard work and persistence in finding the right buyers for Kuwili Lani. Meeting you and having you represent me was one of the best decisions I ever made. I am so in awe of your abilities, attitude, and the pursuit of excellence in all that you do.
–Michael Whelan
What a blessing it has been to be a part of bringing Michael’s vision for Kuwili Lani to fruition, to connect people from many walks of life and bring them into the fold of this unique community. I have learned so much in the process, and believe that it was truly a divine connecting of the dots!
Thanks, Michael, for believing in me!
